The sunny Mediterranean beaches are one of Rhodes’ main draws. You’ve got the award-winning stretches at Pefkos, the sleepy coves in Kalithea and Faliraki beach, which is great for trying your hand at windsurfing.
If getting out and about is more your thing, hiking across wooden bridges and over streams to the Valley of Butterflies, or Petaloúdes in Greek, is a must. Head there in June to September for the best chance to spot the pretty-winged creatures feeding on sweet pine sap.
Rhodes has its fair share of history, and one of the must-see landmarks is Lindos’ ancient hilltop acropolis, which dates back to 9th century BC. While you’re there you’ll be able to explore the remains of the Temple of Athena, as well as churches and age-old burial sites.
Our video was filmed at TUI Sensimar Imperial Resort & Spa by Atlantica, which offers up large lagoon-style pools, a luxury spa and scenic views of the nearby mountains.
