Salina is an island of raw scenic beauty with dramatic volcanic cliffs plunging into the sea. Although named after the salt works of Lingua; Salina is shaped by two extinct volcanoes, Monte dei Porri and Monte Fossa delle Felci – the Aeolians’ two highest peaks.

Salina is the most green and most fertile of the volcanic chain of islands known as the Eolie. It is famous for its distinctive sweet wine called Malvasia, a historic favourite of Admiral Nelson and his troops when they were stationed in Sicily.
